If you have cell service while camping you’re doing it wrong (then again I have t-mobile so finding a dead zone isn’t exactly hard)
Usually my strategy is to pack a hammock along with some basic supplies and ride my motorcycle into the woods stopping once I get tired.

thats harder than it sounds. I had cell service way too many places on both the white rim and kokopelli trails. Yet, I don’t have it near my office.

Well the higher elevation would help I think. Pretty sure cellular reception relies on line of sight to a tower.

Isn’t emergency service the same regardless of carrier?

CDMA vs GSM, plus different flavors...I know that my friends with sprint and t mobile didn’t get coverage on the white rim at all.

Try Virgin Mobile, then you will have an even easier time finding dead zones. Although, I have been camping and gotten faster 4G than I get in my apartment. Little difficult in NJ to end up truly in the wilderness. But yeah my phone is generally off all weekend on camping trips.

At my house, T-Mobile has full bars on LTE. At my school, which is about a mile away, T-Mobile does not work at all.
Thankfully, I don’t have T-Mobile, so my phone works often.

So basically what you’re saying is that I can go “camping” in my basement seeing as my phone doesn't work down there.
